Trading Methods

There are different trading methods for everyone in our ever growing global market. The first thing you'll have to decide is what kind of trading is right for you. Whether you are going to scalp, day trade, swing trade, or buy and hold for the long run, we have products and services that will meet your needs.

Scalping
Scalping involves buying large chunks of stock, and then looking for minor upward swings before selling.

Day trading
Day trading is similar to scalping but you are looking for swings in stock prices, and you rarely if ever hold stock overnight.

Swing trading
Swing trading is also known as "trend trading" and it involves holding stock during swings in the market. Usually these swings are caused by news about the company you are holding.

Buy and hold
Perfect for the long term, and risk averse investor. These stocks can bring great returns, but day-to-day movement doesn't sway your position, you are in it for the long haul.

Your Stock Market Investment Strategy

By Angie Meadford Platinum Quality Author

I'm asked regularly what I think a safe investment strategy would entail. It's a catch-22 because the answer depends on who is asking the question, and their investing goals.

A generally safe investment is real estate. Real estate almost always appreciates in value, and now is a great time to buy it. Don't have the cash to scoop up apartment buildings left and right? Invest in a mutual fund dealing with real estate, or even a stock for a real estate holding company. You basically are a partial owner of all properties owned by the company, for a very small investment. Very safe in most cases.

Now, after real estate, move into mutual funds. I have several of these, and I recommend the same for you. I have three main one's that run the gauntlet from safe, to medium-safe, and aggressive/risky. I get returns from all of them, and while I take the chance for huge short-term gains with my aggressive fund, I am still being logical about the long-term by having cash in a safe fund as well.

Bonds are another option, although the prices might not be that great in years to come.
